A door to door personal service.

Normally we accept clients who are residents of Hungerford, and surrounding villages such as Froxfield, Inkpen, Shalbourne and most other little villages around us.

Kintbury & Lambourn have their own Volunteer Groups and should cover a lot of the  villages, Chain can often help when they can’t

Travel’s purpose should be medical appointments.  Usually we do not provide travel for social purposes.

Our drivers are all volunteers using their own vehicles, we charge a fee of 45p per mile (the tax approved rate) to pay for their vehicle’s costs.  They give their time for free. 

Mileage is charged from Hungerford not the clients pick up point.

If an excessively long wait is anticipated then the driver may want to return home and you will be charged for two return trips.

Journeys inside Hungerford are charged at £3 a return trip.

Arranging bookings at short notice is difficult and, in some instances, we may not be able to help.

We are not an ambulance service; we ask clients about their mobility. Whether a wheelchair is needed or they are in need of the Chaiman vehicle.  The number of volunteer’s whose vehicles can carry a folded wheelchair is limited so it may be difficult to accommodate clients who need this.

We are not equipped carry oxygen cylinders.

We do try and accommodate all the clients requests 

Escort available if booked in advanced. Safe in the knowledge all drivers DBS checked.

We can either arrange transport using our own volunteer driver or it can be hired for a family member or friend to drive after a quick assessment by our qualified member.

If we provide the driver, the travel’s purpose should be medical appointments, or for social need.  Usually we do not provide travel for social purposes.  However you provide the driver and after training it can be used for private social use.
