OUR DOORS TO YOU ALL IN NOVEMBER 2013
AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY RECLAIMED THEIR LOCAL PUB FROM DEVELOPERS.

Saturday 4th November: 7pm

We would like to celebrate our incredible achievement of keeping this pub open for us all to enjoy over the past ten years, with you and our local community of invaluable supporters. The last 3 years have been particularly difficult for hospitality. We would like to thank all of our customers, all of the amazing volunteers who have so generously given their time freely over the past ten years to ensure the smooth running of our precious community pub and all of our hardworking staff.

In addition, we will be jointly celebrating our regular customer Wally Hunt’s 93 Birthday. Wally has frequented the Tally Ho pub for almost 80 of his 93 years! And it remains very close to his heart. 

The event will start at 7pm on Saturday 4th November 2023 and will also feature local band The Unwashed Commoners. 

Other events in November: 

Tuesday 7th November: Quiz Night, 7.30pm
Every first Tuesday of the month, gather your teams of friends and family for our unique quiz night. Normal menu available.  
Up to 4 people in a team, £1 per person to enter.

Sunday 19th November: James Ballantyne Memorial Fund Charity Quiz, 7pm
Please book ahead (ESSENTIAL) by email or at the bar
Food included in the ticket price for teams of up to 4 people.
£15 per person and ALL proceeds go directly to this amazing charity, who are very close to our hearts. James was a popular volunteer at The Tally and the James Ballantyne Memorial Fund help to support the next generation of brilliant engineers in Berkshire, Wiltshire and further afield.

Christmas is coming, so we now have our festive menu available for December
2 courses for £26.95 or 3 courses for £31.95.

Starters:
(v) Spiced Roasted Butternut Squash Soup with warm crusty bread
Chicken & Smoked Ham Hock Terrine with Melba toast & piccalilli
(v) Deep Fried Brie with warm cranberry sauce
Smoked Salmon & Crayfish Cocktail with brown bread & butter
Breaded Whitebait with warm crusty bread and tartare sauce

Mains:
Golden Roast Turkey with all the trimmings, seasonal vegetables & gravy
Roasted Topside of Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, roast potatoes & seasonal vegetables
Honey Garlic Butter Salmon topped with creamy dill sauce & a tapenade of cranberries, almonds and pomegranate with roast potatoes & seasonal vegetables
(v) Roasted Sweet Potato, Spinach, Brie & Cranberry Pithivier with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables & vegetable gravy
Roasted Medallions of Pork Loin with mulled cider & apple gravy, roast potatoes & seasonal vegetables

Desserts:
Traditional Christmas Pudding with brandy sauce
Sticky Toffee Pudding with bourbon vanilla ice cream
Chocolate Brownie with chocolate sauce & caramel ice cream
“Festive Mess”, Chantilly cream, meringue, sponge & chocolate chunks, topped with winter berries
English Cheeseboard with spiced quince chutney, grapes, apple and crackers (£2 supplement)

Our cosy, traditional restaurant is the perfect place to come and celebrate.  With wonderful festive food and a roaring fire to welcome you in from the cold. 

Also, if you or a friend have an engagement, birthday or anniversary coming up, you can book with us to celebrate. Various seating areas in the pub can be booked for you and your family and friends to enjoy together. Whether you would prefer simple snacks, a hot or cold buffet or sit-down meals, we can cater for your gathering. Please contact us for further information.

Accommodation

We have three comfortable and spacious ensuite bedrooms upstairs should your guests and extended family require a bed for the night with free car parking, wifi, tea/coffee making facilities, TV, fridge and a simple continental breakfast all included in the price.

The Den has two single beds and ensuite bathroom.

The Sett (family room) has two single beds, a small double bed and ensuite bathroom.

The Nest has a double bed and ensuite bathroom.
