Message from the Chairman of CHAIN.
Soon it will be Christmas. Where did the last year go, so much has happened in my life and in all our lives. But this year will be a year to celebrate Christmas like no other.
Hungerford knows how to celebrate Christmas starting with the Christmas Lights being switched on, Sunday 1st December. The Hungerford Extravaganza on Friday 13th December and The Mayors Carol Service to name just a few of the events that happen in the run up to Christmas.
Chain are really desperate for more Car Drivers, you don’t have to commit to daily or weekly just as much as suits you. The Office are finding it really difficult to find drivers particularly for trips to Reading or Oxford Hospitals. PLEASE think about volunteering to help your community, it is so rewarding.
The Chairman vehicle is also needing drivers, training is given on using the winch for wheelchairs and it is such a useful vehicle for transporting people in wheelchairs. PLEASE help Chain keep the vehicle being used.
The Chain Office is always looking for more volunteers, so if driving is not your thing then a couple of hours answering the phone in the Office and finding drivers for our clients is very rewarding.
If anyone wants more information on volunteering for Chain please contact the Chain Office, open 9-11am Monday to Friday on 683727 or myself, Janette Kersey on 683302 or janette.kersey@hotmail.co.uk
I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a Healthy and Peaceful New Year, and our amazing volunteers without whom there would be no Chain in Hungerford.
Janette Kersey
